Change In Plans

It seems that the management at KCR have changed their minds as it regards my radio show "Ulster Logic". My intention was to work toward a weekly timeslot to discuss the views of the voters and taxpayers of Ulster County as they relate to our new form of government. Today, after a meeting with the management of KCR, we agreed that I will call in and discuss this with their elected political guests that are on the show. I do intend to do this, so please listen in and I will be calling in starting Monday to ask questions.

Thanks so much, this says a lot about our new transparent government, Len.

  1. Are you kidding me? Why is Walter Maxwell trying to silence the voice of the Independence party chairman? Mike Hein, Lew Kirschner, Jim Sottile, Nina Postupack, and every other public official has a voice as they should, why is Len being silenced?

Does Mr. Maxwell, not believe in free speech or does he only believe in free speech to the Ulster County good ol' boy club.

It's unfortunite that Walter is playing politcal games, I think people should call KCR at 331-9255 and tell the viewing audience what is going on..it is important that you want all voices are heard.

Or maybe the donations that KCR relies on to operate should be withheld?

  2. Len, I think you should suggest a show where the leaders of the Political parties are all on at the same time. That is really comparing apples to apples.

Giving equal time to the partisan Chairmen of their respective parties with elected officials is not quite right. The elected people represent all of the voters and the party bosses only represent one party, and even that is questionable!

As for "our new transparent government", I am not getting the connection between a privately owned and financed radio station and the transparency in Government. Could you please elaborate?
Thanks and I look forward to hearing you put these politicians feet to the fire!

  3. Jeremy, you don't some important people on that list who would be considered equal to Mr. Bernardo. Mario Catalano, Julian Schriebman and forgive me, but whoever the Conservative party chairman is these days.

  4. This is a complete effort to silence independent voters. BY THE WAY, THE CONSERVATIVE CHAIRMAN - ED GADDY DOES HAVE A RADIO SHOW FRIDAY NIGHTS. This is obviously Mike Hein getting to Walter Maxwell - part of the cabal of good old boys who STILL run Ulster County. Shame on GHQ. Shame shame shame.

  5. A suggestion may be to go over Mr. Maxwell's head and question why you were not permitted to maintain the time slot agreed upon. And while you are discussing the scheduling issues, perhaps Mr. Maxwell could explain why there is a public service announcement from County Executive Hein on most morning shows. There may be something unethical about that.

  8. Len,
I encourage you to check out the blog talk radio site. This not only allows you to take calls but also allows you to play music, sound clips, and you can chose any time to host your show. Not only would an independent show benefit Ulster County, it may reach more of an audience who does not want to be tied down to political parties.
